PLP awarded IFC SDI 19 Third Party Accreditation in Smoke Control Systems

PLP Fire Protection are delighted to announce following successful site and office audits by IFC Certification, we have been awarded IFC SDI 19 Third Party Accreditation in Smoke Control Systems.

Following introduction of this third party accreditation scheme for smoke control systems which was developed by the Smoke Control Association (SCA), in partnership with IFC Certification, Property/Building Managers need to ensure they appoint a IFC SDI 19 Accredited company to carry out any design, installation or maintenance work to smoke vent systems (AOV).

The smoke control association recently made an important statement regarding maintenance of smoke vent systems on their website:

“Maintenance of smoke ventilation systems (including AOVs) should only be undertaken by competent organisations that are both members of the SCA and accredited to IFC Certification SDI 19 third party competence scheme.”.
