Fire-Stopping
Fire-stopping is a form of passive fire protection that is used to seal around openings and between joints in a fire-resistance-rated wall or floor, it is designed to maintain the fireproofing of a compartment to impede the spread of fire and smoke.
Many buildings have had refurbishments and installation of various types of services causing damage to existing fireproofing, there are also buildings that have inadequate or no fire stopping installed.

Often your fire risk assessor will highlight any concerns with the Fire-Stopping during a Fire Risk Assessment, It is important that these actions are followed and rectified, but It is also important for the responsible person to ensure there is a regular inspection process in place and that any breaches are documented reported and rectified.
As each building is different a one price fits all scenario cannot be used, instead a comprehensive survey is the first step for us to determine your fire stopping requirements and on completion of the survey a detailed report and quotation is issued together with recommendations and timescales needed to achieve an effective fire stopping solution.
