International Womens Day 2026

Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 with Doyenne in Property

At PLP Fire Protection, International Women’s Day is an important opportunity to celebrate the incredible women shaping our industries, from property management to fire safety.

This year, we were proud to attend Doyenne in Property’s International Women’s Day 2026 event at the Kia Oval as Gold Sponsors, supporting a community that champions women across the property and built environment sectors.

The event also marked a special milestone, celebrating Doyenne in Property’s 10th International Women’s Day event. For PLP Fire Protection, it was our fourth year sponsoring and supporting this inspiring occasion.

Supporting Women in the Property Industry

The property sector is full of talented and dedicated professionals, and many of the property managers we work with every day are women responsible for managing buildings, ensuring compliance and keeping residents safe.

Events like Doyenne in Property’s International Women’s Day create a valuable space for professionals to connect, share experiences and celebrate the achievements of women across the industry.

For us as a fire protection company, these events are also an opportunity to strengthen relationships with the property managers and building professionals who play such a vital role in maintaining fire safety in residential and commercial buildings.

Women in Fire Safety – A Growing Conversation

While the property industry continues to see strong female representation, the fire safety and fire protection sector still has work to do.

Currently, only around 9% of the fire protection workforce is made up of women, highlighting the importance of encouraging more women into technical, engineering and fire safety roles.

At PLP Fire Protection, we believe the industry benefits from diverse perspectives, and we are proud to support conversations and initiatives that help raise awareness and encourage more women to explore careers in fire safety.

Representing PLP Fire Protection at the Event

Representing PLP Fire Protection at the Kia Oval were:

  • Paul Bennett – Director
  • Amy Beeching Grimes – Service Manager
  • Nadia Collingwood – Marketing Coordinator

They were joined by Paul Moore from Metro Safety Group, who is also Business Development Manager for the Obsequio Group, highlighting the collaboration across our wider fire safety network.

Throughout the day we had the chance to meet many inspiring property managers, housing professionals and industry leaders, all working to improve safety standards across the buildings they manage.

A busy PLP stand

Our stand was a lively hub throughout the event, with plenty of conversations around fire doors, fire alarms, smoke ventilation systems and building safety compliance.

Alongside these discussions, we also brought a few fun favourites to the stand:

  • Spin the Wheel of Fortune
  • Pic ‘n’ Mix sweets
  • Fire door gap wedges
  • Fire safety service flyers
  • Invitations to our FREE Fire Safety Training Day for property managers

Our fire safety training days are designed to give property professionals practical knowledge about managing fire safety in their buildings — from understanding fire door maintenance to knowing when fire alarms and smoke ventilation systems should be inspected.

Celebrating Progress in Property and Fire Safety

International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate achievements, recognise progress and continue encouraging positive change across our industries.

Seeing so many talented women working across the property sector and built environment was both inspiring and encouraging.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Doyenne in Property for hosting another fantastic event and for continuing to champion women in the industry.

At PLP Fire Protection, we’re proud to support this community and look forward to attending again in the future.
